About the Images

Mt AdamsMy fine art images are digital photographic prints made from both 35 mm slides and a digital SLR cameras (since 2003). The slide film was mostly Fujichrome Velvia 50, which is noted for vibrant color saturation.

My color lab consists of a light table, Nikon LS-4000 slide scanner, a Mac computer utilizing the latest Photoshop software, and Epson 2200 photo printer (for archival prints up to 12"x18" in size). This system allows almost perfect reproduction of original slides and images shot from a digital camera.

Larger size Chromira Crystal Archive prints (up to 20"x30") are made at Digicraft in Portland (www.digicraft.net). A system of red, green and blue light-emitting diodes expose the silver emulsions on Fuji Crystal Archive photographic paper. The print quality of Chromira is truly stunning! Prints are said to last more than 70 years before any fading even begins.

Stock Photo Prices:
"Stock" photos are copyrighted © images used in websites, brochures, advertising, articles, PowerPoint shows, screensavers, newsletters, packaging, billboards, etc. All images on this website (as well as hundreds more in Darryl's collection) are available at a price for stock useage.

The price of a photo can vary considerably, depending on how it is used, image placement and size, distribution, length of time displayed, budget considerations, etc. Licensing is normally for one-time, non-exclusive usage rights. Prices can be discounted for use of multiple images, or multiple use of a single image.

The price includes preparation of one or more Photoshop files onto a CD, and delivery of the CD to the client. Photos are usually TIFF formatted, for either PC or Macintosh. Resolution is normally 300 pixels/inch for print use, and 72 pixels/inch for electronic use.
